Tip from Citizen Leads to Arrest

NASHVILLE: A tip from a citizen early Tuesday morning about illegal drug sales resulted in the arrest of a convicted felon and the seizure of two handguns, eight grams of cocaine packaged for resale, and a small amount of marijuana.
North Precinct Officers responded to the tip and saw the man get out of a car and attempt to walk away. He was taken into custody. A handgun was in plain view inside the car. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, a second handgun was located wedged between the driver’s seat and center console. The cocaine and marijuana were also recovered from the car.
The man is charged with cocaine possession in a drug-free zone, felon in possession of a handgun, and gun possession during the commission of a drug offense. He has previous convictions for felony drug possession, attempted robbery, felony escape, and convicted felon in possession of a weapon. He is being held in lieu of $40,000 bond.
